Buildings insurance
- Loss adjusters
If your claim is very large or very complex, your insurer
may appoint a loss adjuster to investigate it. A loss
adjuster checks that the claim is genuine, that it is
within the terms and conditions of your policy and that
the amount you have claimed is reasonable. Loss adjusters
are not normally employees of the insurance company
but their job is to act in the interests of the insurance
company rather than in your interests. However, they
can also be helpful in pointing out things that you
had not realised you could claim for.
